Catapult Communications Earns 'Leadership Position' in LTE Testing
(Wireless News Via Acquire Media NewsEdge)
Catapult Communications, a telecom test equipment provider, has
announced three additional Long Term Evolution (LTE) testing wins.
Catapult reported that it received an LTE test system purchase order
from one major LTE customer and verbal commitments from two additional
major LTE customers. The company has now received initial commitments
from a total of six major customers around the world for LTE test
systems, all based on Catapult's flagship DCT2000 product. Shipments of
the LTE test systems began earlier this year but are not expected to
contribute significantly to revenue until the quarter beginning January
1, 2009.
According to Dr. Richard A. Karp, Catapult's Chairman and CEO, "The
commitments received to date indicate both that LTE is creating
significant demand in the telecom test market and that Catapult will
continue to be a leader in meeting this demand."
Catapult Communications is a supplier of advanced digital telecom test
systems to global equipment manufacturers and service providers,
including Alcatel-Lucent, Ericsson, Motorola, NEC, NTT DoCoMo, Nortel
and Nokia Siemens Networks. The Catapult DCT2000 and MGTS systems
deliver test solutions for hundreds of protocols and variants --
spanning LTE, IMS, WiMAX, mobile telephony, VoIP, GPRS, SS7,
Intelligent Network, ATM and ISDN.
