Xiaonei.com Launches Java Terminal


BEIJING, Mar 16, 2009 (SinoCast Daily Business Beat via COMTEX) -- Xiaonei.com launches a mobile-phone Java customer end to its consumers, the Chinese social networking site (SNS) announced on March 16, 2009.

Downloaded on the Internet, the customer end has two versions, including the JAR-format one applicable to universal Java platforms and the JAD-format one developed for users of Nokia, Sony Ericsson and Samsung mobile phones with digital signature technology.



Via the customer end, the xiaonei.com visitors can browse the latest articles of their e-friends, upload images from their mobile phones, as well as publish diaries. Besides, the SNS is now developing other functions to be added, such as entertainment services.

At the begging of 2008, xiaonei.com started its mobile services with plug-in entertainment software. By the yearend, the wireless xiaonei.com had lured about 10 million customers, according to the China Internet Network Information Center (CNNCI), which added that its daily visitor traffic had reached 16 million by then.


In addition, CNNCI reported that 5.5% of Chinese mobile phone netizens surfed the Internet only with mobile phones by last yearend.
