China Unicom, China Telecom Get iPhone 5 Net Access PermitsBEIJING, Nov 30, 2012 (SinoCast Daily Business Beat via COMTEX) -- China Unicom (Hong Kong) Ltd. (NYSE: CHU, SEHK: 0762, and SHSE: 600050) and China Telecom Corporation Limited (SEHK: 0728 and NYSE:CHA) got network access permits for iPhone 5 on November 29. So far, the launch of iPhone 5 in mainland China has been on the countdown. According to the information released on the website of the telecom equipment authentication center under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), the A1429 WCDMA-version mobile phone model and A1442 CDMA2000-edition mobile phone model have got the network access licenses from the MIIT. The two products respectively hook up to China Unicom and China Telecom's exclusive networks. The A1429 mobile phone model supports WCDMA/GSM (GPRS) network (R6 edition, compatible with HSDPA/HSUPA network), while the A1442 model backs CDMA2000 (Rev. A version) and CDMA 1X networks.
