Lilee Systems Experts to Present on Transportation Interconnectedness at the 1st Annual International Connected Vehicle Conference

SANTA CLARA, CA, Dec 10, 2012 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) -- Lilee Systems, the leading provider of advanced communication systems designed for the rail and rail transit industries, today announced that the Honorable Norman Y. Mineta, former U.S. Secretary of Transportation and Board of Director for Lilee Systems, and Jon T.

Adams, Vice President of Strategic Development, Lilee Systems will be delivering featured presentations during the 1st Annual ACM/ISS/IFAC/TRB International Conference on Connected Vehicles (ICCVE 2012). The conference, to be held December 12-16, 2012 at the China National Convention Center in Beijing, China, is the first-ever Connected Vehicles conference that gathers pertinent communities together to explore the latest innovations and advances on connected vehicles.

Mr. Mineta's keynote presentation will discuss vehicle-to-vehicle safety technology and how it can help drivers avoid or reduce the severity of four out of five unimpaired vehicle crashes. He will explore how the use of technology can dramatically reduce hazards including an impending collision at a blind intersection, a vehicle changing lanes in other vehicles' blind spots or rear collisions when vehicles are stopped ahead.

"In the United States, we have launched a yearlong safety program of crash-avoidance technology," said Mineta. "So far, the results have been impressive. At an international scale, we're on the cusp of a new revolution in transportation safety and I expect the brainpower at this conference to help us find new ways of addressing the difficult problems we face." Mr. Adams will present on the recent standards recommendations created by the IEEE 802.15.4p Task Group for robust wireless rail and rail transit communications that he founded. In his presentation, Green Signals Ahead: Standards-Based Wireless Communications for Freight and Passenger Rail and Rail Transit, Adams will share how wireless communications standards between trains or locomotives and track infrastructure can help onboard systems to ensure that trains do not 'exceed limits authority,' exceed speed restrictions, endanger trackside workers or move through a misaligned track switch as well as meet the Federal mandate for rail safety.

"The comprehensive team collaboration of the IEEE 802.15.4p Task Group has made significant progress in establishing communications standards that will better the safety of passengers, workers and communities along the rail lines, worldwide," said Adams. "In the future we hope these standards can also evolve to encompass communication to bridges, overpasses or other infrastructure that can impact the safety of fast moving trains." Adams and Lilee Systems are working with Lonts Inc., a leading digitized communication platform infrastructure and service provider in China. With a strong resource advantage across China, Taiwan, and United States, Lonts has solid research/manufacturing capabilities, and an advanced management system to ensure smooth logistics, supply and delivery for unparalleled service and value.

As the first annual International Connected Vehicles Conference, ICCVE 2012 is a five-day conference with more than 2,000 experts, practitioners and policy makers from around the world. Each will present on the latest innovations and advances regarding connected vehicles, share experiences and insights, forecast trends and opportunities and discuss the policy, economics and social implications of connected vehicles.
