Jan 08, 2013 (AME Info - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- NBK CAPITAL ESTIMATES ETISALAT'S ROYALTY FEE AT 49 percent FOR 2012: NBK Capital has estimated that Etisalat will pay an average effective tax rate of 51 percent on its profits for the next three years, after adjusting for the new UAE royalty rates for telecoms operators, Zawya Dow Jones has reported. Etisalat will pay 49 percent for 2012 and 46 percent in 2016, NBK Capital said. The company's revenues and ebitda growth is expected to reach an average annual rate of 3.2 percent and 1.9 percent, respectively, between 2012 and 2016, driven by its international operations, particularly in Africa, it said.



NOKIA SIEMENS ESTABLISHES MEA BUSINESS UNIT: Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN) has announced setting up a new, single, regional organisation structure covering the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region. Headed by Igor Leprince, previously in charge of Middle East operations, the new Asia, Middle East & Africa cluster (AMEA) will manage the company's customer operations in MEA, India, Asia Pacific, Greater China and Japan. The move will allow the company to serve large multi-country operator customers such as Etisalat, Qtel, Saudi Telecom Co (STC), Vodacom, Zain, and Bharti Airtel in a more integrated manner both within the MEA region and across AMEA operations, said NSN.

SAUDI ARABIA RELEASES MVNO LICENCE DOCUMENT: Saudi Arabia's telecoms regulator has unveiled the document containing formalities and procedures to submit applications to win the Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) licence, Saudi Gazette has reported. The move aims to improve standard of telecoms and IT services, as well as to increase investment in this vital sector. The document by the Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) would contain the conditions and criteria for the process of submitting application, and conditions to be met by the applicants, as well as the timetable for the licensing process, guidelines regarding the applicants and contents of the application, in addition to application procedures. The document would also include the general framework of the MVNO agreement.
