Andrea Basso Named Managing Director of Sisvel Technology

Sisvel Technology (Booth South Hall 1 - 20818) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Andrea Basso (News - Alert) as its new Managing Director. Dr. Basso has joined the Sisvel team at CES.

Andrea Basso brings over 22 years of research experience to Sisvel. He was formerly a research manager of AT&T (News - Alert) Labs-Research USA where Dr. Basso and his team designed and developed innovative multimedia services and technologies with a focus on IPTV and OTT platforms.

"Andrea is not only a true technologist and a prolific inventor with more than 50 patents and patent applications filed in his name, but he is also an excellent manager with vision and very significant operational expertise within complex organizations. He will be a driving force as we continue to develop Sisvel's (News - Alert) leading role in R&D and licensing of key technologies with our worldwide partners," said Giustino de Sanctis, CEO of the Sisvel International SA. A graduate of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Dr. Basso is currently part of the board of the International Multimedia Consortium for Telecommunications (IMCT), overseeing carrier technology activities including VoLTE and MPEG-DASH. He will be based in Sisvel Technology's Italian office in None - Turin.
