Ambion Wireless Will Deepen Internet Penetration in Nigeria


(AllAfrica Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) The availability of fast and affordable internet access will deepen internet penetration in the country and open untapped potentials for the nation's economy, the Managing Director of Ambion Wireless, Mr. Tolulope Buraimah, has said.



Buraimah, who spoke to journalists, in Lagos explained that Ambion Wireless is an innovative start-up company that provides wireless broadband Internet connections to several Lagos neighborhoods.

"Utilising Wi-Fi technology and proprietary antennas and repeaters, Ambion is set to deepen internet penetration in the country through the provision of low cost internet solutions for all class of clients," he said.


According to him, the opportunity of a low cost internet solution will in turn allow the country to tap into the many benefits of the internet community.

"The internet has not only created a global audience, it has also provided opportunities for e-commerce, product advertising, online surveys, technical support and obtains customers' feedback. The internet also allows for immediate dissemination of information as well as initiating online discussion," he stated.

Buraimah added that the company will leverage on the existing partnership it has with ATI Telecoms which has a vast knowledge in internet facilities to deploy SuperWiFi, the latest technology in the world, to Nigeria.

He added that the roll-out of Ambion wireless services would mark an end to the downtime usually associated with the services of Internet Service Providers (ISPs).

"SuperWiFi uses the same signal as television sets. That means that anywhere there is a television signal, there will also be internet connection," he said, He disclosed that the same technology has been deplored in Japan, the United States of America (USA), Hong Kong and other parts of the developed world.

"Ambion will be able to serve a large area with Wireless Internet connections. The services of the firm will be in phases and Lagos is the city of first launch while other major cities in the country will follow suit," he said.
