Parallocity Joins ARM® Connected Community®
SUNNYVALE, Calif. --(Business Wire)--
Parallocity, provider of the Zeus
Virtual Machine® (ZVM) Dynamic Analysis Framework for automated
software defect detection and code analytics, today announced it has
joined the ARM (News - Alert) Connected Community, the industry's largest ecosystem of
ARM technology-based products and services. As part of the ARM Connected
Community, Parallocity gains access to a full range of resources to help
it market and deploy its innovative solutions that will enable
developers to get their ARM Powered® products to market
faster.
"Parallocity provides two ZVM-based tools for runtime memory analysis
and concurrency defect detection, they include ZVM-U
for large-scale user space applications and ZVM-K
for complex loadable kernel modules and device drivers. Both tools
automate the detection of concurrency errors, like data races and
deadlocks, as well as memory errors and memory leaks in single- and
multi-threaded C and C++ code running on the Linux, Android (News - Alert), and BSD
operating systems," stated David Cowan, VP of Sales and Business
Development at Parallocity. "Utilizing ZVM for unit and regression test
cases companies can get their ARM Powered® products to market
faster, at lower cost, with higher quality code leading to a better
nd-user experience."
Traditional runtime tools are inefficient because they instrument the
binary image. This leads to slow execution and huge memory bloat. As
such, their use is typically limited to unit testing. By contrast, ZVM-U
and ZVM-K analyze application source code then add instrumentation only
to key data structures. This enables customers deploying products based
on ARM's multi-core Cortex® 32- and 64-bit processors to use their
preferred compilers to generate instrumented images that are
exceptionally fast and memory-efficient. These customers can utilize ZVM
for defect detection in products that range from resource-constrained
wireless access points, smart meters, medical devices and consumer
electronics with as little as 64MB of system memory to large, complex
systems like automotive in-vehicle infotainment systems, intelligent
routers and switches, and next generation server platforms with 72GB or
more of system memory running applications with millions of lines of
code, hundreds of concurrent threads, and dozens of processes.
The ARM Connected Community is a global network of companies aligned to
provide a complete solution, from design to manufacture and end use, for
products based on the ARM architecture. ARM offers a variety of
resources to Community members, including promotional programs and
peer-networking opportunities that enable a variety of ARM Partners to
come together to provide end-to-end customer solutions. Visitors to the
ARM Connected Community have the ability to contact members directly
through the website.
"The Connected Community is all about companies working together to
provide the most complete solutions in the shortest possible time. By
joining the Community, which now comprises more than 1,000 companies,
Parallocity increases the large portfolio of skills, products and
services that are centered around the ARM architecture, and currently
available to developers worldwide," said Lori Kate Smith, Sr. Manager
Community Programs for ARM.
