Germany : CASSIDIAN to supply equipment for a terrestrial trunked radio network [TendersInfo (India)]

(TendersInfo (India) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Chunghwa Telecom, the prime contractor for the TETRA network project of the Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of China has awarded a contract to Cassidian of Germany.

Under the deal, Cassidian will supply tools for a terrestrial trunked radio network for use nationally by Taiwan's military police.

According to Cassidian, it will supply 60 TETRA base stations and 1,500 terminals to Taiwan's Military Police Command, which is in charge of all military police units and operations. The gear will be incorporated into the military's current TETRA network in Taipei.

The gear -- along with the deployment of necessary infrastructure throughout the country -- will provide Taiwan a nationwide TETRA network with around 5,000 terminals.

David Chan, head of APAC Secure Communication Solutions at Cassidian said: We are honored to play such an important role in professional radio communications in Taiwan. This contract highlights the fact that our proven TETRA solution is recognized as a result of our ability to provide a truly seamless network, including its installation, launch and construction, as well as a modern, reliable after-sales service.

The equipment is to be supplied by Highpull Technology Co., Ltd., Cassidian's local reseller.
