China's MEMS market expected to rise to USD2.3 bln in 2013, survey
SHANGHAI, Feb 27, 2013 (Xinhua via COMTEX) --
China's purchase of
micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) is expected to rise to 2.3
billion US dollars this year, according to a latest survey report
released by the IHS iSuppli.
In 2012, China's MEMS market increased 19 percent to 1.9 billion
US dollars.
The report said the largest MEMS application market in China was
the data processing market, where the MEMS consumption totaled 499
million US dollars in 2012.
The second largest MEMS application market was the wireless
terminal sector. The strong sales of smartphones, tablet PCs, and
other mobile devices stimulated the MEMS demand.
The report forecast China's MEMS market would grow to 3 billion US
dollars by 2016, with the compound annual growth rate at 13.4
percent. The wireless terminal market would register the fastest
growth, with the compound annual growth rate of its revenues at 24
percent in the 2011-2016 period. (Edited by Jiang Yujuan,
