Lenovo announces 3 Android tablets at MWC 2013 [Gadgets Special] [Times of India]


(Times of India Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) BARCELONA: Lenovo today announced three new Android-powered tablets as well as a new network access service. While Lenovo A1000 and A3000 feature a 7-inch touchscreen, the S6000 has a 10.1-inch display.



Lenovo S6000 has a 10.1-inch IPS screen with 1280x800p resolution and is powered by a 1.2GHz MediaTek quad-core processor. The device boasts of 178-degree viewing angle, microHDMI port and a battery that offers 8hours of continuous web browsing over Wi-Fi. It also has a slim profile, measuring 8.6mm along the waistline and weighing 560g.

The all-new A3000 has a 7-inch IPS display with 1024x600p resolution and is also powered by a 1.2GHz MediaTek processor. It supports microSD cards with capacities ranging up to 64GB and comes with the option of 3G connectivity. Along the waist, it measures 11mm and weighs 340g.


Lenovo A1000 is another tablet with 7-inch screen and boasts of dual frontal speakers with Dolby Digital Plus audio enhancement. Available in black and white colours, this device runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) and has 16GB onboard storage with support for 32GB microSD cards.

The Chinese manufacturer also launched a new service at MWC 2013 called Mobile Access that allows users to connect instantly "out of the box". With this service, when the device is turned on for the first time, it will show Lenovo as the network provider and allow them to access internet over 3G or Wi-Fi, depending on the configuration. When the plan expires, users can renew it or go for an alternative service.

Pricing and Availability1 The three tablets will be available in the market in the second quarter of this year, the company said.
