Japan : FUJITSU to sell its ISP unit NIFTY CORP [TendersInfo (India)]

(TendersInfo (India) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Fujitsu announced its plans to sell its broadband subsidiary Nifty Corp, as it believes that there is no significant growth at the internet service provider (ISP) in the future.

With this sale, the company will concentrate its resources on its mainstay business: systems integration for corporate clients.

Nifty Corp is one of the leading broadband service providers in the country, reporting a 3.82 million Long Term Evolution (LTE) and WiMAX subscribers at end-December 2013, while fixed-line broadband uses reached 3.56 million, a marginal 0.9% increase year-on-year.

Fujitsu is an IT equipment and services company. It is based in Tokyo.
