THE GROUNDBREAKING LG G3 KICKS OFF RETAIL SALES IN AUSTRALIA, TODAY

(ENP Newswire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) ENP Newswire - 20 August 2014 Release date- 04082014 - SYDNEY - LG Electronics recently announced globally a whopping 165 per cent boost in its second-quarter net profit compared with the same period last year.

Why? Well, the Mobile Communications division has just stepped-up big time to deliver a smartphone that seriously challenges the status quo with its critically acclaimed LG G3.

In the wake of gushing reviews of the LG G3, the Mobile Communications division sold 14.5 million smartphones in the second quarter of 2014, a 20 per cent increase year-on-year. Expectations are high for quarter three and beyond as more markets, including Australia, commence sales as the global rollout gathers pace.

The quarter two success can be laid at the feet of G3's mass popularity in Korea and strong sales in large key markets globally to date - evidenced by a 38 per cent boost in shipments in North America.

This handset is the real deal LG Australia (LG) is determined to capture the same success for the LG G3 as its best ever premium smartphone in the Australian market. A great pre-sales program has seen offers from retail partners such as Optus and Telstra sell out in a matter of days, with customers clambering to be one of the first to own the new device.

As a sign of confidence, LG is planning to continue its portfolio building activity beyond the G3 in the second half of 2014 to introduce further mass tier products in the lead up to the big pre-Christmas sales period. Ultimately, they have their eyes firmly fixed on the target of being Australia's fastest growing mobile brand.

So watch out, iPhone and Galaxy - there's a new kid on the block, and he's armed with a Quad HD Display, a Laser Auto-Focus Camera and game-changing UX! Not to mention the inspirational wearable accessories like the G Watch that, coincidently, launches into retail at the same time.

WHAT LG HAS TO SAY 'This is an intensely exciting time for the Mobile Communications division in Australia. A lot of effort has gone into the development of the LG G3, globally. From R&D through to marketing and PR, it has all been driven towards making the device the most successful in our history. The time has come for Australia to have their say and we can't wait. With the global success of the G3 and the initial reviews from tech media in Australia, we're setting our hopes high.' said Lambro Skropidis, General Manager of Marketing at LG Australia.
