Fujitsu's Software Defined Networking Expert Dave Jameson to Speak at 37th Annual NASTD Conference

(ENP Newswire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) ENP Newswire - 27 August 2014 Release date- 26082014 - Richardson, TX - Fujitsu, a leading provider of business, information technology, and communications solutions, today announced that Dave Jameson, principal architect, Network Management Solutions for Fujitsu Network Communications Inc., is presenting at the NASTD 2014 Annual Conference and Technology Showcase.

Jameson will deliver 'Getting the Most Out of Your Network Using Software Defined Networking (SDN).' A continued focus on budget and cost control is giving government ICT professionals reason to consider SDN as the preferred approach to realizing their next-generation communications network vision. This innovative network architecture, which virtualizes and simplifies operations, offers agencies an answer to the challenge of reducing or avoiding costs. In his presentation, Jameson will describe how SDN is capable of creating a programmable network by taking both next-generation systems and existing infrastructure and making them substantially more dynamic. As a result, state networks are better able to continually deliver the network performance and availability that allows employees to do their jobs and citizens to access online government resources. Jameson will also explain how bringing disparate systems and technologies together under a common management system allows agencies to more easily identify underutilized resources, extracting value that would otherwise be wasted.

Jameson has more than 20 years of experience in the telecommunications industry. As an expert on SDN, he has contributed to industry publications, such as Converge! Network Digest, and presented at numerous industry conferences, including Big Telecom Event's 'Software-Defined Networking for Optical Networks' panel; and as a keynote speaker at SDN & NFV USA. At Fujitsu, his networking software expertise has contributed to advancing the company's sophisticated network management, provisioning and surveillance software suite. Jameson attended Cedarville University and holds a US patent related to network management.

'It's an honor to join this group of professionals dedicated to furthering state government operations and citizen services through technology,' said Jameson. 'SDN holds out the promise of networks able to more rapidly and automatically respond to changing needs. This dynamic configuration and reconfiguration of network resources will help ensure applications, such as e-government services for example, are performing optimally. I am excited to explore the many benefits offered by Software Defined Networking.' The 37th Annual NASTD Conference and Technology Showcase will take place August 24-28 at the Coeur d'Alene Hotel in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Jameson's SDN presentation is scheduled for August 26 during Breakout Session #2, 2:00PM to 2:55 PM PST.
