Globe reaches out to Marikina, Cainta flood victims via Libreng Tawag

(ENP Newswire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) ENP Newswire - 26 September 2014 Release date- 24092014 - Leading telecommunications company Globe Telecom set up Libreng Tawag stations in Marikina City and Cainta, Rizal over the weekend to assist residents who needed to assure their family and friends of their safety or to request for aid if necessary.

Marikina and Cainta are two of the areas in Metro Manila and Rizal placed under the state of calamity after being submerged in floodwaters during the combined onslaught of Typhoon Mario and Habagat.

The Libreng Tawag centers were placed in evacuation sites such as Nangka Elementary School and H. Bautista Elementary School in Marikina and at Kabisig Elementary School and Brgy. Anak Pawis 1 Covered Court, Brgy San Juan in Cainta. The four areas are prone to flooding due to their proximity to Marikina River which was placed on alert level four last Friday, prompting forced evacuation among residents near the river.
