These invitation-only events connect business that have a positive social with European investors.

'Kalibrr has worked very hard to make it easy for companies to recruit candidates, and jobseekers to apply for jobs. It's an honor to see that European investors have taken note of Kalibrr's vision to create a world where everyone can get a job,' said Chief Operating Officer and Co-Founder, Dexter Ligot-Gordon who represents the company in the two events.

Kalibrr is a start-up funded by Kickstart Ventures, Inc., an incubator-investment firm wholly-owned by leading telecommunications company Globe Telecom. Since its inception in 2012, Kalibrr has been raising the Philippine flag on the international tech-startup stage. It was the first to get into the prestigious Y-Combinator incubator program based in Silicon Valley and has earned the backing of such venture funds as the Omidyar Network, and Siemer Ventures.

'As an investor, Kickstart cares about multiples: the magnified impact that each investment dollar stimulates. Kalibrr yields returns that we all care about. The Kalibrr team has created jobs and has created greater efficiency in the Philippine job market. Social mobility through broadly accessible economic opportunities, a technology-enabled platform that is re-shaping the market, a solid financial return, and a generous Kalibrr spirit - these tangible outcomes underpin the strategic impact that we see our investment in Kalibrr is enabling,' said Minette Navarrete, President of Kickstart.

Kalibrr focuses on streamlining sourcing, screening, and assessment for employers. The web-platform further enables job seekers to apply to hundreds of jobs. Kalibrr does this by matching jobs and jobseekers based on skills, taking the guesswork out of the interview and recruiting process. Companies can set up job postings, and candidates can look for jobs at www.kalibrr.com.

Paul Rivera, a college friend of Ligot from University of California Berkeley and co-founder of Kalibrr said they would like to transform how job recruitment is done globally starting with the Philippines through the use of data and science to provide insights to recruiters and companies as to the profile of their candidates.

'Most recruiters are not trained to screen for skills or to screen for specific behavior or trait. We want to make the HR people more effective, more efficient so that they can spend their very limited time with the best candidates. Right now, most of them spend a lot of their time interviewing unqualified candidates because they don't have the right tools to do it automatically. We want to empower them make really good hiring decisions that would allow their companies to be more productive and stronger,' Rivera said.

Rivera said Kalibrr sees a many opportunities in the Philippines especially in the fast-growing Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) sector which continues to create a lot of high-value, high-skill jobs as it grows by 18-20 percent per year.
