(Czech News Agency Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Spending on online ads to equal that in printed media in 2015 Prague Expenditures on online advertising could equal expenditures on advertising in printed media in the Czech Republic next year, according to an estimate of the Internet Advertising Association (SPIR).



The estimate is based on development in recent years, when online advertising has been growing by around 20 percent annually. Online ads could thus become the second most widely spread type of advertising 20 years after the first banner of US phone company ATandT appeared on the Internet. According to a study by agency ppm factum, online advertising in CR has doubled revenues to last year's Kc13.3bn in the pat five years and this year's revenues are expected to exceed Kc15bn.

Court halts appeal proceedings of Casino Kartac Prague The Prague Municipal Court has halted appeal proceedings of company Casino Kartac, which demanded over Kc460m from the Finance Ministry as compensation for allegedly wrong administrative procedure in setting limits for interactive video lottery terminals, the ministry said in a press release today.


The district court for Prague 1 dismissed Casino Kartac's suit in midApril, after which the company lodged an appal. This was the third dispute in a similar matter in which the company failed. Two previous suits, which the firm demanded over Kc460m and Kc1.4bn, respectively, were turned down by court in January and February.

KKCG to build 50 lowenergy houses in Prague's Sarka valley Prague The KKCG group of entrepreneur Karel Komarek will buy 50 lowenergy homes in the Sarka Valley in Prague on the place of a former brickworks, KKCG Real Estate representatives said today.

The investment will amount to Kc600m. The construction of buried services is to start this year.

Donellan becomes marketing director of CTP Prague Brendan Donellan from Ireland has become a new marketing director of developer CTP, the company has said.

Donellan will be in charge of digital activities, PR and events.

Tesco Stores' sales in CR start growing Prague Tesco Stores raised sales by an annual rate of 1.5 percent in of the fiscal year 201415, which ended in August, while its sales decreased by 6.9 percent in the same period a year ago, the retail chain said in a press release today.

The amount of sales and earnings was not disclosed. The firsthalf rise was the fastest since 2011, said David Morris, CEO of Tesco's stores in CR. Tesco continued modernising stores and expanding online services, and also started providing telecoms services.

Employment of people aged 55 to 64 only slightly above 50 pct Prague The Czech Republic has a pledge to the EU to reach a 55 percent employment of people aged between 55 and 64 but now this share stands only slightly above 50 percent, Labour and Social Affairs Minister Michaela Marksova Tominova said on the presentation of project "GO 50 GO".

The project is aimed at opening discussion on why people aged over 50 in the Czech Republic have a very hard time to find a new job. "We want to start talking about the prejudices to this age category and also about why teams of young people do not want those aged over 50," said Lada Vavrova of personnel agency Fala in which the project emerged spontaneously.

Vodafone launches roaming in its LTE network as 1st firm in CR Prague Mobile operator Vodafone has launched roaming for foreign users of LTE networks as the first operator in the Czech Republic and within several days will offer a similar possibility also to its clients travelling to abroad, spokeswoman Marketa Kuklova announced today.

Roaming in the Czech network is accessible for clients of Vodafone's sister companies in the Netherlands, Italy, Germany, Romania, Greece, Spain, Turkey and Great Britain. Further operators are being added gradually.

Court in Brno affirms Kc91.9m fine for O2 Czech Republic Brno The Regional Court in Brno today affirmed a Kc91.9m fine that antitrust office UOHS has imposed on O2 Czech Republic for loyalty rebates and the fine is for the behaviour of Cesky Telecom, now O2, in the years 2001 and 2002, UOHS chairman Petr Rafaj told CTK.

O2 Czech Republic is the legal successor to Cesky Telecom and the UOHS led the proceedings the last time with Telefonica Czech Republic but the company has changed name this year. Former Cesky Telecom broke the competition rules when it signed contracts for price plans with businesses. In these contracts, clients pledged to call for a set number of minutes they had to pay even when they did not fully use them. They also could not rescind the contract before expiry or use voice services from another provider.

Bernard raises beer output by 12 pct to 198,650 hl in Q13 Humpolec, South Bohemia Brewery Rodinny pivovar Bernard produced 198,651 hectolitres of beer in JanuarySeptember this year, a yearonyear increase of 12 percent, Bernard's spokesman Zdenek Mikulasek told CTK today.

Bernard's sales increased by almost 14 percent to Kc392.8m in the first three quarters of this year and profit rose to more than Kc56m from Kc54.7m a year earlier. Bernard has started to brew a new topfermented beer of the ale type. It has launched industrial production of ale as the first brewer in the Czech Republic.

Staff at Tatra's two subsidiaries go on onehour strike Koprivnice, North Moravia Around 200 employees of companies Tafonco and Taforge, the subsidiaries of company Tatra Trucks, gathered at a meeting during a onehour warning strike today in protest against their employer's refusal to increase wages.

Unions demand an increase in base wage of Kc500 a month as of January 1, 2014. Jaroslav Novacik, deputy chairman of trade union Odborovy svaz KOVO Metalurgie representing employees of the two firms, said the average wage in the Tafonco foundry was Kc22,327 in 2013 compared to a Kc23,212 average wage in the Moravskoslezsky region, north Moravia. Employees of some divisions are ready to go on unlimited strike next week if the warning strike fails to convince the employer to increase wages, unions said. Tafonco and Taforge employ almost 600 people in total.

Imperial Karlovy Vary's sales drop by 4.5 pct to Kc290m in Karlovy Vary, West Bohemia Spa company Imperial Karlovy Vary generated sales of Kc290.3m in the first half of this year, a yearonyear drop of 4.5 percent, the decrease being caused by a declining number of guests from Russia, Ukraine and Germany, Jiri Svaricek, the director of the Imperial hotel, told CTK.

The entire concern, including fund Imperial nemovitostni, uzavreny investicni fond, had sales of Kc339.7m in JanuaryJune. Spa hotels Imperial and Spa Resort Sanssouci were visited by 8,883 guests in the first half of this year, a yearonyear drop of 2,820. But the decline did not affect sales significantly thanks to an increase in prices and growth in the crown's rate versus the euro.
