The Gionee Marathon M3; A 5-inch phablet with a massive 5,000mAh battery for RM 700 [Mobile 88 Online (Malaysia)](Mobile 88 Online (Malaysia) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Chinese smartphone manufacturer Gionee has stepped up to the plate with the Marathon M3, a device boasting a 5,000mAh battery which is said to deliver 32.8 days standby time. With dimensions of 144.5 x 71.45 x 10.4 mm, the Marathon M3 is not as subtle as some of Gionee’s other offerings. Furthermore, the specs are what you’d find in a mid-range devices, including a 5-inch 720p display, 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582 CPU, 1 GB RAM, 8 GB internal memory, microSD slot up to 32 GB, 8-megapixel camera with LED flash, 2-megapixel front shooter, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity along with USB OTG support. Also included is dual-SIM functionality as well as FM Radio. As far as software go, the Marathon M3 features Gionee’s Amigo 2.0 UI atop Android 4.4 KitKat. As far as availability go, it’s only being sold for the time being in the Indian and Chinese markets, for USD $210 (RM 702.86). Time will tell if it makes its way to our region.
