Toshiba to Unveil Wide Range of Next-Generation Innovations at International CES


Toshiba (News - Alert) will unveil a new vision for the future and showcase new concept innovations such as Toshiba Glass and a wide range of new technologies in the healthcare, storage and energy categories at the International Consumer Electronics Show (International CES (News - Alert)), the world's largest exhibition of home electronics on January 6 through 9 in Las Vegas, the Toshiba exhibit will be located in the Central Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center, booth# 11028.

In addition, the company will present solutions that can be realized though its "lifenology" technologies which help people achieve a better quality of life.

New concept innovations on display will include Toshiba Glass, a B2B solution that enables quick retrieval of manuals and other information while doing maintenance and logistics work away from a computer; a lifelike robot named ChihiraAico that can be used in a variety of occupations, and Coordinate Plus, a virtual fitting system that uses body scanning technology to enable shoppers to try on clothing remotely via a tablet or mobile device. Also on display will be high resolution 3D display technology that allows switching between 2D and 3D viewing modes without the need for specialized 3D glasses.

Storage solutions that will be in the exhibit booth include wireless communication solutions including products supporting TransferJetTM, a close proximity wireless transfer technology; NFC (near-field communication technology); Bluetooth® Sart applications with NFC tag (News - Alert) functions; and FlashAirTM, a wireless LAN SD memory card. Also, the latest line-up of client SSDs, portable hard discs, SD memory cards and products supporting SeeQVaultTM, a next-generation content protection technology; will be featured. Furthermore, an image recognition processor for automotive applications with enhanced features, including improved performance in night-time detection of pedestrians that are demanded in next generation Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), will be showcased.



Some of the most advanced innovations on display involve solutions for the healthcare industry, including Wearable Wristband Fitness Tracker, a biosensor device that allows users to take a total approach to managing daily exercise, sleep, and diet, and the SilmeeTM, which promises to be helpful in disease prevention and care work by enabling analysis of autonomic nerve activity and sleep through measurement of vital signs such as cardiac potential and pulse.

In the energy category, Toshiba will display its residential fuel cell ENE-FARM and it's Rechargeable Batteries (SCiB (News - Alert)™), a safe rechargeable battery solution with high-rate performance and long-life capabilities that is used in a wide range of applications, from electric vehicles to home and grid energy storage. Also on display will be hydrogen fuel cell technology for the home which uses natural gas to provide a stand-alone energy system that is both stable and secure.

Attended by more than 150,000 attendees from over 140 countries, Consumer Electronics Association's (News - Alert) International CES showcases more thanĀ 3,500 exhibitors, including manufacturers, developers and suppliers of consumer technology hardware, content, technology delivery systems.
