Voxbone Adds Outbound SMS Capabilities to its Mobile DID Numbers

Voxbone today announced the availability of national and international outbound SMS capabilities for its mobile DID numbers. Unlike similar offerings, SMS messages are delivered using high-quality, direct routes to ensure a near 100 percent delivery rate, and both voice and two-way SMS are supported on the same long code mobile number. In addition, Voxbone's (News - Alert) services are compliant with local telecommunication regulations.

Person-to-person SMS activity is expected to decline among consumers after 2015, according to Telco 2.0 Research, threatening a massive revenue generator for operators. At the same time, OTT providers and application developers will benefit from an increased demand in applications that use SMS services to facilitate interactions with end-users, such as scheduling appointments, validating financial transactions, casting ballots, and more. These applications are becoming increasingly more common than email, as the open rate of SMS is much higher. Voxbone's mobile DID numbers with two-way SMS service enable cloud UC (Unified Communications) providers to integrate mobile communications into their services. As the only provider to ensure high-quality, direct-route delivery,Voxbone makes this form of communication more reliable than ever before.

"Although 2016 will mark a decline in person-to-person texting, we expect this to be partially compensated by the integration of SMS in enterprise OTT communications and applications requiring interaction with residential or professional end-users," said Itay Rosenfeld, CEO of Voxbone. "Voxbone opens this door for them with a reliable two-way SMS service that is compliant with local regulatory requirements."

Approximately 20 of Voxbone's customers participated in a beta trial over the last six months. Voxbone's long code mobile DID numbers are now available in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Spain, Belgium, and Sweden.
