Nuance (News
- Alert) Communications ' Dragon Apps' are lighting up the Asian Market as they inexorably continue their conquest by becoming available in the Taiwan and Hong Kong Apple (News
- Alert) App stores with support for Cantonese and Taiwan Mandarin.
"The addition of Cantonese and Taiwan Mandarin demonstrates our commitment to delivering powerful mobile voice capabilities across Asia, as well as many other regions of the world." said Michael Thompson (News
- Alert), senior vice president and general manager, Nuance Mobile, in a press release.
Hitting the Chinese stores in March 2011 and supporting Chinese Mandarin was but a precursor to the Dragon Apps rapid expansion of Asian language support and country availability. This has enabled more consumers in more Asian countries to become 'more indolent' by allowing them to create e-mails, text messages and search the mobile web just by using their voice and not their hands.
With its latest conquest, Dragon Dictation and Dragon Search for iPhone (News - Alert), iPod touch and iPad now support 14 languages and are available 16 stores worldwide.
Commenting on the popularity of the Dragon Apps, Thompson said, "The response to the Dragon Apps across Asia has been amazing, with Dragon Dictation hitting the number one spot among free business apps in both China and Korea - as well as nearly every other country we've launched in."
While Dragon Dictation for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad enables people to dictate content for almost anything that they use their mobiles for, Dragon Search lets users speak any search query to find quickly and easily and access information and answers on the mobile web.
The latest version is iOS-4 compatible and features a pop-up toolbar with app icons for quickly accessing and speaking. Officials claim that this method is five times faster than typing. The unique and innovative Dragon Search Carousel delivers fast, smarter search results across multiple channels within seconds.
Dragon Apps’ multilingual capabilities now include Cantonese and Taiwan Mandarin along with Chinese Mandarin, U.S., U.K. and Australian English, European and Canadian French, European and Americas Spanish, German, Italian, Japanese and Korean.
Dragon Dictation and Dragon Search are available for free from the Hong Kong and Taiwan Apple App Stores.
In keeping with its commitment toward innovation, Nuance Communications (News - Alert), Inc. announced the availability of its Dragon Medical Mobile Search App on the Apple App Store. The intuitive voice-enabled medical search app for iPhone gives clinicians a smarter way to search for medical information.
