UTStarcom (News - Alert) has at last constructed its Internet TV platform designed to enable its Network Television Station to offer digital TV services.

Built on its core RollingStream technology, the Internet TV platform will enable its radio and television organization to provide a full package of value-added services to subscribers, including high-definition interactive digital TV, video-on-demand, online gaming and shopping.

"We believe our end-to-end Internet platform can further increase the new TV station's revenue opportunities through an enhanced subscriber experience," said UTStarcom President and CEO Jack Lu.

California-based UTStarcom has now become a leading IPTV (News - Alert) vendor in China, a market where digital consumers are growing like never before. According to reports, the company has almost 55 million subscribers in China and more than 65 million globally.

The platform can be customized to the need of customers and the station.

The system enables operators to provide iDTV, IPTV, Internet TV, mobile TV, video information and other industrial applications.

“While the cable industry in China continues to develop with a clear trend towards network convergence, we are confident that our IP-based network solutions in iDTV, IPTV and Internet TV will allow us to capture significant business opportunities in the coming quarters," Jack added.
