Silver Lake, an investment firm, has selected AVI-SPL’s ConferencePoint to manage its video environment to improve management collaboration on projects with portfolio companies.

ConferencePoint is powered by Glowpoint, a provider of advanced video communications solutions.

AVI-SPL’s (News - Alert) ConferencePoint solution will now be combined with its custom A/V integration for Silver Lake offices around the world including their co-headquarters in Menlo Park, California, and New York, as well as in London and Hong Kong.

A good video communication facility helps users to communicate with their clients and colleagues easily. Investment firms such as Silver Lake are turning to video communication as they experience the inherent benefits to adapting to such a technology.

Glowpoint President and co-CEO Joe Laezza (News - Alert) said, “While the economy continues to present challenges to the global business community, telepresence and video are considered investment solutions to manage costs and improve global communications and productivity. Frost and Sullivan, and Wainhouse (News - Alert) Research, have recently reported on the emerging global growth of video, and we are pleased to have the opportunity to partner and support industry leaders such as AVI-SPL.”

With ConferencePoint "Elite" service, it will be easier to manage Silver Lake's video communications infrastructure. The solution provides features such as room certification, proactive monitoring of all room components, 24/7 proactive and on-demand help desk support, calendar and room resource management, automated call scheduling and launching, and complete conference production.

Silver Lake can also communicate with outside portfolio companies and other telepresence and video users with this solution.

Recently, the company offered its managed video service solution for interactive broadcasts used for live interviews airing the 2009 NFL draft. The networks showed a split-screen format, demonstrating Glowpoint’s (News - Alert) ability to provide zero-latency, quality of service (QoS) connectivity in a live-to-air use of video conferencing.
