GeckoSystems recently announced that Japanese firms are showing interest in assisting and/or partnering in the use of GeckoSystems Mobile Robot Solutions for Safety, Security, and Service for manufacturing, distribution and sales in Japan.
According to company officials, Japanese representatives met with a number of business partners to learn about their criteria for selecting a Japanese business partner.
In addition to the discussions with JETRO (News - Alert) and Tmsuk, officials visited another Japanese company which is focused on preventive medical care using mobile robot and vital sign sensor systems.
Martin Spencer, president and CEO of GeckoSystems said that the Japanese have their eldercare crisis because of the size of their WWII widow population. The Japanese government spent one hundred million dollars ($100,000,000) in grants (to Sanyo, Toshiba, Hitachi, Fujitsu, NEC (News - Alert), etc.) over the last eight to ten years to develop personal robots for their own eldercare crisis.
GeckoSystems developed a suite of products such as GeckoNav, CareBot, GeckoChat, GeckoTrak. GeckoNav is automatic self navigation software, CareBot is a complete multitasking personal robot, & GeckoChat is software with verbal interaction capabilities.
